Re: The Hues Corporation - Freedom for the Stallion (1973).
Unusual chords for a record in this genre.

Re: The Hues Corporation - Freedom for the Stallion (1973).
Groovy Motown sitar style guitar sound.

Gone a bit '70s US telly programme theme tune again.

Re: The Hues Corporation - Freedom for the Stallion (1973).
Maybe the closing credits theme from the show I was imagining at the beginning of the album?

Re: The Hues Corporation - Freedom for the Stallion (1973).
It is over.
I felt it was a mixed bag, with some genuinely interesting tracks mingling amidst more run-of-the-mill stuff.
Now to look back at the album and see what everybody else made of it.

Well, that was ultimately a bit anaemic and anodyne.
It was all quite wishy-washy and, I can't help thinking' that it might've played better with white audiences that black.
It was never of course bad in any way exactly, but - and this is a cliche (but all the best cliches are overbearingly true) - THAT WAS PART OF THE PROBLEM!!
No edge.
No funk.
Gritty soul absent without leave.
