The EBU have issued a statement about the hosting of next year's contest. The UK will host it if Ukraine can't.

They should give it to Akrotiri/Dhekelia on the basis that its the closest British territory to Ukraine.
It shouldn't be anywhere on the entirely undeserving GB mainland. It's a bit much that we'll graciously take their Eurovision publicity and the direct spending of all the entries and attached junkets, but precious few of their refugees - and even then preferably only the ones who can pick fruit in the fields, and only then if they can't stay with a cousin in Poland, and only then if a UK householder underwrites them.
The two British sovereign Cypriot bases are closest to Ukraine.

I hope not. Considering the circumstances, that would be in the very worst possible taste - like offering to host a big global Jewish festival during WWII because Kraków had to cancel. So it's highly likely that's exactly what the UK will do, and bill it as 'levelling up' while the city it might've been in is levelled down.

People sat in Eurovision audiences so much more elegantly back then rather than the jeering rabble you get these days.
