Why do you thunk I picked it.
Also, he was a very beautiful young man at that moment in time.
I think he still worried about his complexion, but not how he looked (and how actually 'black' he looked*).
The consensus seems to be that at the Thriller point he could'f probably stopped the placcy surgZ and not doggedly carried on trying to start to looklike Latoya and freakish and embarrassing and, of course, eventually, like a monster.
I think that on this album cover his effervescent genius, charisma and sweetness shines through.
Let's just freeze him in time between 1971 and 1982 forever.
*and, generally less acknowledged, how much he loathed his resemblance to his abusive, divide-and-rule, tyrant of a manager/father.
