There was a cynicism based on a technically proficient studio skill that deterred me from genuinely liking it.

Overall, it was an extremely cynical and bloodless exercise in, slightly bitter (did I imagine it?), pastiche verging on self-defeating parody.

A kind of 'we could'f done it if you didn't but we didn't cos we were to busy being session musicians' dynamic.

It was also a mostly artless and gimlet-eyed attempt at extracting money from morons for mockingly mickey-taking miserablists to make make money, y'all.

Still, there were a couple of songs and flourishes that faintly fanned the flames of fffffffffffff...
