It is! I'd recognise that delivery anywhere. The Call of the Wendigo wrote:Is this Maria McKee?

It was a very dull album, mostly devoid of both vigour and inspiration.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

S'alright, I was going to give it *** until the Springsteen constipated vocals kicked in on the last few tracks, that's never a good thing.
I don't think we did do this one before.

Re: Steve Earle - Copperhead Road (1988).
Although I did not participate in the listen-along for fear of renewed mockery, I awarded the album **** because I like it.
Particularly the apposition in the title track between the illicit manufacturing uses that grandaddy and the narrator are putting the holler to, and the closing threat that we'd better stay away from Copperhead Road, prefiguring as it does the next 30 years in American politics.
I also like Johnny Come Lately because he's American but singing about Camden Town.
Also the album has personal significance because I bought it just before I began experimenting seriously with moonshine myself. It marks the start of the burnout period of my third incarnation, before the traumatic regeneration a year later.
