It's just like most post '64 Beatles albums - patchy, somewhat compromised in regards songwriting duties, hobbled by one or two stinkers but studded with several scintillating gems.

As is always the case in these matters, the new mix (and cheerfully desultory bit of studio noise at the very beginning) interests me not a lone iota.

That said, it was better than that Aminals one.

Taxman was shocking on the original. Pretty much all the instruments and vocals came through one speaker, while the tambourine came through the other, all on its own.

On Eleanor Rigby, Macca's voice suddenly leaps over to the right speaker, halfway through the first line, for no noticeable reason.

Taxman sounds GR8, it pops more and has more drive than the 2022, the stereo positioning is terrible mind.

The 'all the lonely people' stands out more, the way it comes in the left, err.. this one is better. too. The strings are more restrained and better for it.

Probably terrible on headphones.
