In many respects, Almond was the worst thing about it.

Foetus was an artiste I loved when I was about 15 or 16 and then I suddenly realised how tiresome his stuff (and the man himself) was.

If I'm entirely honest though, he is a sort-of interesting character and has worked with so many other major artistes and has also been genuinely influential on a whole load of levels that most people have no idea about.

I begrudgingly respect him.

He's an obnoxious arse by all accounts.

He's better than Nick Cave.

I'm not sure whether he's better than Almond.

Almond can sing and is intelligent, but Thirwell/Ruin/Foetus is smarter and more creative than he lets on.

Better than Almond is my conclusion.

He's definitely not better than Lunch.

In both sense of the word.
