I disregarded Nightjar's scorn for Burger King and had my tea yesterday at the Brampton Hut location. This is where the A14 meets the A1, or rather it used to be, because the roundabout was a notorious traffic nightmare spot and got by-passed, leaving the Brampton Hut services as a grubby, plastic litter strewn backwater full of bad tempered people who've spent 20 minutes trying to find it on the maze of roundabouts and 'no unauthorised access' decoy sliproads.

Anyway, I wished I'd listened to Nightie, because I had to wait 15 minutes for my plant-based Whopper.

I almost wish I'd stopped instead at one of those strange 'diners' that I'm never sure whether they're just for lorry drivers or not.
