None of these singles made the top 40. It shows, yet there's something likeable about them.

I'm getting the impression that, despite their potential for commercial success, the music is just too art-jazz-funk and technically busy and hard edged production-wise to've broken through onto the Simon Bates show.

It's very 80s but not very polished. Others achieved a similar, but more polished sound a year or two later.
