Re: The Weather Thread Part 6.
I’m writing from a deckchair in the garden. Not a cloud in the sky, blazing sunshine. It said it was 18c, but I think more. I had lunch outside in St Andrews and it was buzzing, we could barely get a table.
I’ve decided to host one of the students here for a couple of hours over the weekend, yet to be chosen. I can just about stretch to a cab fare back here from the pubs if they’ve already spent their loan.

Re: The Weather Thread Part 6.
Further to that, I was invited to a party on Friday by a Matt I met in the pub. I’m going to have to say no unless I can rope in someone even older to come. I don’t want to be the oldest person in the halls of residence except the caretaker. I’ll see how tomorrow evening takes me. If it’s as nice as today, I might be in the mood to not mind, and to be sensible, I could consider it valid research for what the university experience is like in the 2020’s, which I’m sure my son will thank me for as long as I don’t reveal exactly how my up to date knowledge came about.

Just as nice until a couple of hours ago, was and felt a degree or two cooler. Changed a hour ago - sunny but cloudy now. I’m not going to any party of twenty year olds.

Bright and cold today. 6 C in the morning.

Clear blue skies and blazing sunshine but there is frost everywhere.
Currently just 6 degrees, out there.

So, basically, the same as Fangy's weather was, yesterday.

Does anyone think the trees are turning orange at an unusually fast rate?

Yes. Almost overnight. It was all deep green last week. Now - shades of New England.
Other strange occurrences - I was here earlier in the year and planted some things. Things that shouldn’t be happening - lilies coming into full bloom, bountiful delphiniums too - are happening all around the garden.
Storms are predicted, so hoping for some non destructive cosy-indoors drama.

Interesting. The views of Glasgow and Paisley from the motorway flyovers are dotted with orange and yellow trees. And the trees along the airport perimeter road are solidly orange.

Re: The Weather Thread Part 6.
Things are only just starting to turn here. Most trees still have plenty of greenery to them.

The dandelions and hawkeeds in my garden are still in flower.

That’s interesting. I wouldn’t expect such difference - I’m looking at a burnt orange shade tree right now. Most of them are still solidly green, but I’d say one in four in the woodland - I’m at a friends house a few miles away from the coast this afternoon. Random one in four are spectacular displays of orange. They all sort of look like the same type as their green cousins. Maybe they have different temperaments? I worked with a guy who had an affair with a tree.
