More weirdly...

Someone on GSIF posted that the other day.

And then I investigated, but could find no mention of her demise.

Then I found an article on some website that said it'd all been part of a hoax.

Ergo: gasp

Troy Beckwith: Neighbours actors pay tribute to co-star, dead at 48

Beckwith played Michael Martin in the long-running Australian soap opera from 1992 to 1998.

His family later confirmed the 48-year-old actor had passed away following "a tough battle with cancer".

In her Facebook post, Kym Valentine, who played Libby Kennedy in the show, wrote: "It pains me so much to have to say this. Our dear old friend Troy Beckwith has passed away.

"Another member of our TV family gone way too soon."

He had one of those arrogant faces that meant he could only ever play mischievous characters. I notice one of his other roles was as a school bully.

TV presenter Jonnie Irwin, who fronted property shows Escape to the Country and A Place in the Sun, has died.

Irwin, 50, was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2020 after the disease had spread from his lungs to his brain.

I'd only seen that he'd been interviewed again the other day and thought how remarkable it was that he'd lived this long with terminal cancer.

Oh no. As the young one, as long as he was alive Dad's Army was still alive. bawl

Dad's Army actor Ian Lavender, who played Private Pike in the hit TV series, has died at the age of 77.

Birmingham-born Lavender was just 22 when he was cast as the guileless platoon member, in what was then a new BBC sitcom.

But it made him a household name, and he ended up spending 10 years as part of the comedy classic.

Lavender, who died on Friday, was the last surviving main cast member of the series.

was the last surviving main cast member

Do we know who is left of the non-main cast members? Or are we down to just walk-on parts now like the Oompa Loompas?

Of the supporting characters listed on Wikipedia, only one actor is still alive.:

Miss Janet King (Caroline Dowdeswell), a clerk at Swallow Bank who works with Mainwaring, Wilson and Pike in the first series.
