How does a 19-year-old even sing like this.
19 was middle aged in the 50s.
I used to have a 1966 Charles Buchan football annual.
There were loads of pictures of footballing stars of the day in it and they all said "aged 21", "aged 19" and "aged 26" and every one of them looked to be about 50.
The entire England football team that won the World Cup looked like they were in their 50s, except for Nobby Styles who looked like he was in his 70s.

That.... wasn't thrilling. It was bland and generic with lacklustre instrumentation - and an often annoying voice. But it either got better as it went on or I sort of got used to it and began to see what ladies of the day saw in music and teenage boys men back then. .

Sounded like they'd emasculated him with their :fiddles: and fuddy dudded backing singers.
