I found it pleasant to listen to and appreciated the fact that it made an effort to be different to what we expect from him.

Well, it was unique I guess. A bit too autotuney vocodery, but I can just about accept that, and there were a couple of dull and generic country rock songs on there. But it was quirky overall, an acceptably interesting listen for the most part.
