It's only 10 miles from the centre of Cambridge to the border of Essex.

I suppose it is quite close. It feels like further away because it's such an annoying drive. You can either go up the 2-lane, traffic-clogged M11, or take the A1017 over the hills where you have a 30 limit every couple of miles, and the rest of the time you're stuck behind a tractor rant

The first time I made a journey North from Zarnichester, I went via the A1017, and it took me 2 hours just to get to the A14 at Cambridge. It's only 40 miles!

New episodes of Tales of the Unexpected ran on ITV until 1988 - I thought it was only on in the 70s!

OK, it's not like I didn't know he'd died, but I didn't - perhaps due to my more nubile age at the time* - realise that he was only 57. bawl

Tom Oliver, who plays Lou Carpenter, is English. gasp

I found this out thanks to spotting him in UFO and checking on Wikipedia to see if it really was him.
