Moving house
I've spent the last month of weekends decluttering my house to make it easier to sell. I now have 50 plastic crates of books in my front room, ready to be taken to FanMum and FanDad 3's house, as they've kindly offered to let me store them in their loft.
And I have just arranged to hire a van to take them there. You can call me Vangirl Three for the duration

So no more on-street parking updates?!
May I suggest your next house has a drive or designated parking space?

That idea had occurred to me. To the extent of it being almost the entire motivation for moving.

It's Vanday!
I have to start getting ready in an hour, so I can walk to the van hire place to commence the Vantastic Voyage.

I'm not sure but I think I saw them driving to the Recycling centre in a full looking hire van and big smiles on their faces.

Yep. Half a ton of books outta my house and into their loft. Van returned to hire place, no extra charges. Got some champagne at the Co-op on the walk home from the hire place.

Re: Moving house
Poor thing. Books are a nightmare. I had to have my living room redecorated. The heaviness of the books and their temporary homes in the kitchen, bedroom and hallway meant I couldn't even make a cup of tea.
Only after all that, and pushing the furniture around myself (the only place left for the sofa was on top of the bath - which also contained its share of books), while confirming dates etc with my insurer did I find out that my policy covered removal and storage.

What an elegant room. It looks like a dolls house. Tell her if she doesn't share you'll fill another woman's shelf.

She'd probably give me a lift round there.

This is my corner of the living room, in which other people are unwelcome...

Instead of a fire in the fireplace. We very rarely do heating here...
Canadian Slavonic Papers is a very good read btw. Other titles obscured by my terrible camera skills are German Literary Criticism 1730-1980, A History of Modern Europe, London Labour and the London Poor, Kerouac's On The Road, The New Spaniards, and Cleopatra and Anthony - one of my favourite historical couples.
We have other bookcases around the place, but I'd love them all together as a private library.
