Playing out with Prince and a song I don't recognise, even though I know all his hits.

That was an OK episode with highlights by Brian Ferry, Salt 'n' Pepa and Deacon Blue.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everyone else made of it.

I've skipped a couple, so it's Bruno Brooks and someone else.
Sybil Ruscoe. The first TOTP presenter with a Midlands accent since.... Peter Powell.

V. 80s snare. Blue apples. HA HA. Vestigial tune. Strange skittery guitar.
I think they played the whole thing in the run out.
Prince was looking very gender neutral in that video, years before Sam Smith became a "they/their".

Proppa adult contemporary. But what I'd do for some adult contemporary in the charts these days.

I keep seeing that in the charts yet I still don't know what it is. It entered around the same time as "We Call It Acieed" and like that song the presenters have stopped announcing the title so I'm wondering if it's on the same controversial "theme".

Seeing as he was in the TOTP studio I'm guessing he recorded a performance of the song for future broadcast - only it'll never have been broadcast due to it failing to chart.

And he never had another hit. Just think, if they'd have just broadcast that one performance it could have all been so different.

It looks like the chart from the last episode - behind the random bloke's head and to the left of Kylie should be Enya at number one.
