As it should be. Those living north of Leeds deserve some hope.

I went past Sheffield Manor Lodge yesterday, where Mary Queen of Scots lived when she was a prisoner on holiday in Sheffield. It's the first time I've ever seen it in the flesh.

I do love those places where you get totally anomalous buildings in the middle of council estates.

The walnut tree in the north courtyard is reputed to have grown from a seed left when Anthony Babington smeared walnut juice over his face to disguise himself and enter the castle to see Mary, Queen of Scots.

I've got the day off today. We were all given a bonus day off as a reward for all our hard work over the plague year.

Feeling very puzzled. Perhaps it's an April Fool claim by Denise.

That's not the first time I've heard a celebrity waxing lyrical about how fabulous Cilla Blacks legs were. Are they able to see something I'm not? I only ever saw somewhat swollen looking knock knees, and no calf muscles. It was a commonly understood thing in our house that legs like those were what wide leg trousers were invented for.

I'll try it next time I want to sneak into a prison without being seen.

It's more effective if you disguise yourself as a giant walnut.

Earlier today, I became aware of a series of photographs taken last summer, showing my son jumping off a cliff into the sea. I can't believe he could be so stupid. I waited for him to come home to confront him with the evidence, and he acted as if it's perfectly normal to do such an unsafe thing. I was so annoyed by his attitude I poured all of his Chocomel down the sink, and now we aren't speaking.

I saw a large walnut running down Ladbroke Grove earlier. Cries of 'stop that walnut' rang out, but I just admired your disguise.

CT, you know I don't live there any more.
It was probably my Mum.

Well it's such a great disguise, there's no telling who it was.

Re: What's happening in your life? Part 2
A motorway junction was shut this evening when I was heading north on the M1, probably due to an accident or something, and all the traffic got forced off the motorway at Worksop, leading to all kinds of pandemonium. I ended up driving pretty much right through the town centre - I'd never been to Worksop before so it was at least mildly interesting despite my annoyance in being forced to take a back route. It was also dark so I couldn't exactly see very much. According to my calculations it has been 15 years since I last entered Nottinghamshire.

Butterpops, honestly, that story would've benefited from some creative punctuation and a few dramatic smileys.
That way it could've been an veritable rollercoaster of high-octane thrills and terror.
