I was walking up Zarnichester High St about 7pm one Friday in autumn 1999, and this random girl pounced on me and gave me a hug, telling me to 'have a really good night, OK?'

I think she meant well, but it was a bit unsettling. Especially as I was going to a committee meeting at the church I then belonged to.

If they were the same place that would save me a lot of petrol money and tedious driving up and down the A12 to my storage places. I know every inch of that road now.

I have no trouble with those, because I had memorable Premier Inn stays in both of them. The Bicester one was freezing cold and I got stuck in a horrendous traffic jam, whereas the Banbury one had lovely views and subsequently burnt down, preventing further stays.
