Sounding like a demo for a Bond theme song.

Don't stop swaying, baby
You've got a license to kill!

Yo brother
You sure heard me
Banging on the big drums for your love
You called me baby then
Talked to me like your best friend
When the time was right you were so good
Asked me what I like
And I said
Don't stop swaying baby

She's got Hansel and Gretel having sex with each other, with the help of their father.

I can't stop seeing Monty Norman Bond opening sequences with Timothy Dalston looking moody against a black background.

This is a very lyrically dubious song but it is a great track, regardless.

With some bints off of a Pirelli calendar swinging on the stem of a champagne glass.

Well, it's over.
Quite liked that last one.

It is over.
That is a wonderfully luscious piece of early 1990s Pop that, questionable s*xual sentiments aside, is almost impossible to pick fault with.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everyone else made of it.

It (The Sophie B Hawkins album) just too AOR for me. Sorry.

Personally, I really didn't like it at all.
However, it has to be considered in its own right and whether SBH "hit her targets".
It was weird to me, because it was at once a proper horror-show of early '90s-ness and the work of someone I couldn't possibly have anything against (especially since I've not much to measure it by).
It was unusual insofar as it got progressively more daring and interesting as it went on.
Normally, if you hold the artist in very high esteem, putting all the good songs at the beginning of the album is very frustrating, but with this it was as if the commercial/Madonna-esque stuff was wedged in early and it was only after that it got interesting.

I listened to this for the first time in a while this week and aside from Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover and California Here I Come I still don't love it. I prefer her next album, Whaler.

Maybe we should do a thread for Whaler?

We did a track from it, the other day, in a mini-playlist. It went down really well.
