Womack or Nomack?
Re: Bobby Womack - I Don't Know What The World Is Coming To (1975)
This is where Marvin Gaye got it wrong.
Al Green knew how to balance the holy and the secular too, but Marvin couldn't do it, he couldn't help himself...
He was a narcissist and libertine and a sinner and it was too much for him.
God bless, Marvin Gaye.
We will do one of his albums at some point.

Well, it's over.
That was alright, much, much preferred it to StevieieieieieieieievieWeveveveeveeee Wonder.
Dunno what to give it.
I'm still not a fan of 70s soul to be honest. It can wait till I'm too old for pop music.

That and classic Motown. With the too busy James Jamerson bass lines.

Well, of course it does, it wouldn't be soul music if it didn't sound like soul music.

It is over.
I felt that was OK but it struggled to hold my interest, as some tracks went on too long and it relied on feel while the songs themselves often didn't really go anywhere.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everyone else made of it.

I don't know what to give it, anyone else flip-flopping between two ratings?

I shall give it three stars, as I felt it was on a par with the Stevie Wonder album.

It's highs are very high.
The lows are merely OK.

I'm giving it 4 stars.
Some of the songs (Superstar for example) are among my favourite songs of all time.
