BUt in its defence the melody is boring as well.
Y'know, cos they meant it.

Didn't Bob Dylan write a song of the same title?

A moody track to close with.

Re: Thompson Twins - Into the Gap (1984)
There's some genuine musical talent and ambition behind this.
Strange really.
It's like they weren't around during an era-a few years where they'd've been as celebrated as many other groups.
Instead they just got lumped in with - and happily embraced - the second British Invasion media guff.

This is a bit like the Sick Parrots we did earlier, ends on two b*ring songs.

It is over.
That was a good album that, possibly, ran out of steam towards the end but it was pleasing, overall, with some excellent playing on it.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

I shall give it 4 stars because its melodies were somewhat wooden but still intriguing.

I actually.
Genuinely.
Virtually.
Thought that was quite good.
The hits were ace.
Some of the album tracks were good too.
It petered out somewhat at the end, but then, so did Revolver.

And, er... Venus and Mars?
Is that the one Wendi loves?
Or is it Red Rose Speedway?
Anyway, it petered out like one of those albums.
The one that causes the most unnecessary offence.

Venus and Mars maintains its magnificence right up to and including the final moment.Nightjar wrote:And, er... Venus and Mars?

I went ★★★★ in the end.
I'd also like to take in consideration I'm quite liking A Flock of Seagulls recently.
