Myself and my good friend Mickey remain very proud to this day that we both heard that song for the first time while we driving to a (an appalling, horrific) wedding in K*nt back when it came out.

Must've been '99 or '00.

AnyborgleZ, he was driving and I was in the front passenger seat, and we had the radio on and, well, this song just started slimily, mucously, insidiously seeping out of the speakers and we remained silent for a couple of minutes, just 'drinking it in' like drunkards on the icky end of a 'spitoon bet'...

And then, almost simultaneously, we both said more-or-less the same words...

"What the actual f**k is this f*****g sh*t?"

I love fireworks. I live for fireworks. They make me feel all safe and with a sense of childish wonder while the dark world outside the firework zone fades to nothing.

Coincidentally I was looking at a new flat online earlier, and one of the things that impressed me more than anything was the views of all the fireworks it’d offer on 5/11.

I know it's London, and the famous Hyde Park, but do any of the residents ever complain? Much as I love ~~Daryl Hall~~ Billy Joel, it does seem there's an awful lot of concerts going on these these days. I think I've said before that I think concerts should only ever be indoors, for the sake of the thousands of people who don't want to hear them.

It could have been all the press helicopters flying over the BBC for footage of nothing. Marylebone to somewhere like Elstree would fit. I get the end of the palace flypasts, and I don’t really see the point.
