Tongue sandwich?

But it felt so padded, everything seemed to be so extended, as if every note was SO IMPORTANT it couldn't possibly be cut.
I bet that first track could be good fun live, what with them building up the banging noises and what like. Didn't work on LP.
I also am going: ★★

Red and the hopelessly dated period In The Court of the Crimson King were better.

That was, bizarrely, not nearly as 'heavy' as I remember.
If it'd been the onslaught of Osmium-laden prog riffing I remembered I think I'd've preferred it.
It ultimately meandered and indulgently built, faded away, built, faded away, fell of the cliff-face of boredom, built up, faded away, etc etc etc etc ecte te cxge etcvb...
Brilliant musicianship without question, but, by Ghod, so boring and annoying.
The albums did get better as the '70s rolled on though.
Still, in isolation, it's like fizzy water torture.
