It's like the band were let in the studio immediately after New Order had been recording and all of the synths and effects and everything had been left exactly the same and Barney said "OK, let's record this thing, but don't change any of the settings because everyone - especially Gillian! - will be mightily ch*ffed off if they finds you've been fiddling around with the Fairlight/DX-7, the really low strung bass strap, syn-drums, effects pedals, Roland drum machines, etc...".

It's all too amateur (production-wise too) to be effectively immersive in any way really.

was fun. Wonder why they didn't just go, that's it, scrap the rest of the album and just turn in 7 more tracks like that. They would be dance pioneers now.
