I think that Side 2 has been better than Side 1.
I think.
Perhaps I'm just inured to the whole cacophony ofposturing cultural appropriating whiteness indie-din of it all?

One of those You've Been Framed montage clips is on on telly.
It's all babies with buckets on their heads walking into plate glass windows.
This is a good soundtrack.

My WAV includes the sound of the turntable arm going up at the end
I'm glad I listened to this album again, it's rekindled my fighting spirit. I've just given someone a telling-off on Twitter

It is over.
They have a song. It is a very appealing song. I'm not sure I need to hear it 12 times on one album.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

I liked that It was bombastic. Probably works better in shorter bursts than the full album in one go. Maybe a side, then go get a couple of tea, read the papers, then side 2.

I did not enjoy that very much at all.
However, unlike certain 'people' I could cast semi-opaque, passive-aggressive aspersions at, I will acknowledge that it was quite advanced for its time.
That is deserving of a fair degree of credit.
That it sounded very dated and hackneyed and tiresome in a conspicuously '90s sense isn't the band's fault.
This was late-'80s and they were well ahead of the curve.
As Nietzsche may have said if he was a member of the Nu-HotW: "Untimely".
Thus is the dance of Polemos: Apollo and Dionysus at playful war atop Olympus, though viewed through a glass darkly.

I did knock a point off for the spelling of "liquidiser" incidentally.

Spookily, I see that I bought this album on Oct 25 1989, that's 31 years ago on Sunday.

Yes indeed. Interestingly I was thinking of them again when I listened to the opening track of New York by Lou Reed on Tuesday while having a vodka session. For it was with the same album that I began that year of debauchery and misery.
