Re: Socially distanced Christmas TV 2020 :excited:
I have given up on it. It is a very boring film. It mostly seems to be men in suits having discussions in offices.
Where's the flying car and the volcano headquarters and the sharks?

I am now watching Dr Terror's House of Horrors on The Horror Channel, instead.

I've just checked. Both films were made the same year.
By the same company.
I wonder if they were shot at the same time?

Loving.
Bernard Bresslaw is really quite disturbingly scary in this as Gripper Burke.
Genuinely a bit too much so.
Compare and contrast with his charming role in Matron.
Underrated actor.

Yes, that last 'beautiful things!' scene goes on way too long.

It's a general fact that, whilst the Carry On Team enjoyed doing the historical epic or genre movie spoofs best, they're often the least engaging.
Cleo is the exception that proves the rule I guess.

It's not my favourite.
Some good lines and performances though.
Shame about Roy Castle.

Re: Socially distanced Christmas TV 2020 :excited:
Khyber >>> Screaming, Castle or no Castle.
Screaming has no Sid and far too many longeurs - any scene involving the Oddbods for example.
Joan Sims' scenes are all bedbound, just like in Matron.
There are only two good things about Screaming: 'Frying tonight!', and the sauciness of Harry Aitch Corbett shacking up with Fenella Fielding at the end.
