About Face or about Fæces?
Re: Davie 'Dave' Gilmour - About Face (1984)
I have little or no recollection of this song at all…
1 xmas I had this, Radio KAOS, and the newish Pink Floyd Album, A momentary Lapse of Reason all on cassette
I thought if you combined the best bits from all 3, you have an ok Pink Floyd album

This is rock, not pop!
Crazy when you consider that DG's vocals are multitracked.

This sounds more promising.
Hints of Working Class Hero.

Dave's guitar veering way too far into the '80s.

I like the way the spinning vinyl is in his thumb on the 'video'

Clunky key changes not hidden by the production. That bit's straight off his first album, only better produced.

Missing the voices.

Also, Lou Reed's Berlin.
It's Bob Ezrin.

ANd Roy Harper.
He asked Roy Harper and separately, Pete Townshend, to supply lyrics, but felt that those provided were not messages that he could relate to. Harper subsequently used the tune, with his lyrics, as "Hope", on his 1985 album with Jimmy Page, Whatever Happened to Jugula?.[12] Townshend used it with his lyrics as "White City Fighting", which has a markedly faster tempo, on his 1985 album White City: A Novel, on which Gilmour plays.[12]
