It would appear that this is what she's saying.
B*gger off basically.

Re: Grace Jones - Warm Leatherette (1980)
It is over.
That was a very proficient album that could have done with having more, and shorter, tracks on it.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

Well, that was ace.
It isn't nearly as good as Nightclubbing however and has the vague quality of a project that hadn't quite got into its stride yet.
That said, it's AcoolAF.
Plenty to enjoy and, despite some of the tracks being dragged out (albeit in engagingly funky style) in a high-quality, all-round-superior exercise in padding, it's still an important part of Ms. Jones's high plateau of musical output.
Compass Point Studios has a lot to be proud of.

That's essentially the most succinct criticism that can be levelled at the album.

Re: Grace Jones - Warm Leatherette (1980)
Musically I get mixed up between Grace's earlier albums as they're all quite similar, so I can't think what I actually specifically think of this one, but I know that I do like it.
My CD version has a different cover:

I listened to it a couple of days ago and it showcases Grace's voice and attitude very well but some of the songs are a bit lacking - of melody. Love Is the Drug is never a favourite of mine - and at 8 or 9 minutes the version on this album most certainly outstays its welcome.

...Apart from Portfolio, which is perhaps my favourite Grace Jones album overall.
It's so naff in parts that it's great.
I'm mainly talking about the post-disco Compass Point ones.
