Painfully dated period. but I err quite liked it. Except when it was being slow and boring. I think I went ****

Sounds a bit like the Post-Sovietwave I've been secretly listening to, Компостаж, Кузина and especially, Аудиопреступление

Re: Laura Branigan - Self Control (1984).
It is over.
I felt it was an album of mostly poor songs and mostly awesome singing. Clearly, she suffered from being trapped in the era in which she was recording, and from being torn between being a EuroDisco queen and a Steinman bandwagoner. I feel she should have concentrated on being the former, as she felt more like she'd found a niche of her own when she did that.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

That extra person might have been me.
I listened to my CD copy again yesterday and it's a very good album, typically 80s. Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow is definitely the lowlight - in fact, I illegally skipped it after about 30 seconds. It's one of those songs that I don't really like, whoever does it, like just about every other Carole King song.
