Unless we count Give My Regards to Broad Street as a proper album. Perhaps we can save that for his 90th birthday. hmm

It picked up a bit about half-way thru, but the first half was mostly dreadful.

Then, when you thought it improving generally, that hideous Chuck Berry-esque song burst out of it's mildewed, cobwebby tomb.

The last track (and the hidden track) were OK though.

Other than the two singles, I remembered nothing of that album from the time, despite the fact both my dad AND brother owned copies of it. For the most part I found it incredibly boring, bland and very generic in parts. C'mon People is still a great song though, but as an album it did absolutely nothing for me, which albums like Pipes of Peace and Tug of War do. This did nothing unique.

The irony is that this is probably my favourite Paul McCartney album, and a soundtrack to my life aged 4-ish (along with Culture Club and Billy Joel) as we listened to it in the car going on holiday to Wales and various other exciting destinations.
