No!
Even 'gasp' and 'bawl' smileys morally and solemnly disabled.
Just no.
This is the definition of bad news.

Well, it's the day I'd kind of dreaded for years, but also almost expected in a way. The few times you'd hear updates about her in recent times it wasn't ever good news, then it's been almost silent in very recent months.
I heard on the radio as I was on the road. Various friends and relatives have been in contact with me, almost offering their condolences! But then I have been a fan for the best part of 40 years!
Oh well, the music - and the legend - goes on, as they say.

That was my first thought when I read the news.

You’re right. Her work will live on, and the joy she gave to millions of people will never die - and is a very rare legacy to be able to leave on this earth. She had a dreadful life all things considered, but all she did was spread uncontroversially happy feelings to others. We’re lucky in a way to have lived in her era.

Re: Tina Turner has died, aged 83.
I'm wondering if the "Won't ANYONE come with me to see Tina Turner?!" thread could be locked and preserved for posterity as I feel a chapter has well and truly been closed - plus its title was somewhat out of date, its name going back to 2009 on the old forum!
I might create an all-new thread for all things Ms. Turner at some point in the near future.

So, Tina's rescheduled concert in Sheffield in May 2009 really was her last ever, ever concert.

And I believe the one I went to in Birmingham the month before was her last-ever-but-14th concert.
