An Italian wouldn’t wear those disgraceful platforms unless she was touting for business on the kerbside at the time, and if she was, the dress would be shorter and tighter. Therefore, not a typical Italian.

You have singularly and tragically misunderstood the joke.

Does anyone know where that is?
According to the comments on Twitter, it's definitely in China, Spain and Japan.

I note that they seem to be driving on the left, which would lend credence to the Japan claim.

I'm still waiting for an acknowledgment regarding this 'epic fail'.

Hold on. Looking at it, the one in Wenling doesn't look anything like the one in the video above.

It's clearly a totally different house on a totally different road and possibly in a totally different country.

Also they drive on the right in China.
The only Asian left-handers are Thailand, Japan and Indonesia. My money's on Thailand or Indonesia for this location.
Btw, whilereading Wikipaedia about researching this subject, I discovered that the ancient Romans drove on the right. Or at least they did in Pompeii.

While looking, I found out that China had a 12 day traffic jam in 2010.

I can only imagine it was made monumentally worse by the numbers of people who fell asleep at the wheel/run out of petrol/died of natural causes.

Re: The all-new all things driving thread
It looks from Fixmystreet like the traffic lights at the Penrith roundabout on the A66 (apparently known as the Kemplay Bank roundabout) are on the blink again.
I can't decide whether to sneak round via Culgaith and Lazonby or just take the A69 instead.

Re: The all-new all things driving thread
Yes, although the Lazonby route is 9 miles shorter than the A69 one, it includes at least 10 miles of B roads, which will mean the journey takes 10 minutes longer.
So I can choose whichever one I please at no extra time cost.

Re: The all-new all things driving thread
I went the A69 route. One advantage it has over the A66 is that, while there's less dual carriageway, all the villages are bypassed, and the speed limit is 60 all the way.* Yesterday morning I only had to slow down for the roundabouts (4 count, if I recall).
On recent journeys I've had the phone in the car so as to spot upcoming traffic problems on Google Maps. But this time I used the phone as a hotspot for my mini tablet, which has a bigger screen and doesn't keep tipping over when I turn corners. Also I can listen to podcasts on it while I'm driving.
*apart from the end bits at Newcastle and Carlisle

Re: The all-new all things driving thread
I think I've only ever once been on the A69 between Carlisle and Newcastle. It was circa 2002 when staying in the Lake District and me and my brother went to see Hadrian's Wall, somewhere near Haltwhistle, or Hexham or somewhere.

We went there too, in 1986 when we were staying near Alnwick. The only other visitors there were Italian tourists, which I thought was appropriate.

You and I were crossing paths before I'd even heard of the HOTW!

I’ve never turned off the motorway before the junction that applies. That way lies pitchforks and wicker men, wielded and built by the twelve fingered whose parents are also their second cousins. I wouldn’t feel safe.
