The strange keyboardy sounds at the beginning and end of Kim Wilde's Kids In America are supposed to be be replicating the sound of the New York traffic she then sings about.

The Lightning Seeds' Ian Broudie was in that same band, Big In Japan, as Holly Johnson in the late 70s!
