I'm now trying out Linux Mint XFCE, instead of Linux Mint Cinnamon, which I was previously using. It's reckoned to be virtually identical but less demanding on your computer.

So far, my fan is remaining dormant. I take this as a good sign.

Now to try it on YouTube, which is the thing that was really setting the fan off.

I think I quite liked XFCE the last time I tried it, but I think I might have been comparing it to GNOME 3 at the time



Which was the one that made Windows 8 look good? Unity?

I couldn't type the "@" symbol. I've just had to go in the inner workings and tell it I have a British keyboard.

I shall screen grab a shot of it, once I'm back on my Linux super-computer again.

This is it. I'm about to try out the 64 bit Chrome OS. Pray for me.

I'm trying it now.

So far, it's terrible. It keeps freezing and when it isn't freezing, it's very jerky. It's easily the worst operating system I've tried so far.

I've just had to restart my laptop because it became totally unresponsive. Things are not going well for the, "high-speed," operating system.

It has just totally failed to open Twitter.

And now it has only managed to open the top quarter of one page on SSC.
