What did you dream about last night?

I dreamt I was driving up a very steep flyover ramp, so steep that all the loose stuff in the car rolled down onto the back seats. It went on and on and on, and I realised that if I did get to the top, it would be too dangerous to come back down again. Nor could I turn round because the slope was so steep, the car would roll over and away down the hill.

I was just trying to decide if I could reverse back down using engine braking, when it occurred to me that I was only assuming that the drop on the other side was equally steep. The ramp might after all lead to a plateau.

At that point the question was solved by me waking up, thank goodness.

It's occurred to me that I could simply have stopped the car, put the handbrake on, got out and walked to safety in any direction.

I had another one of those After Hours type dreams where I've been to a party and I'm trying to get across London to Liverpool St and home. At one point I found the Thames-side path blocked by lowlife, but a kindly woman lifted up the railings for me and I was able to get into a road which ran parallel to it. There was a street name sign on the railings : 'Serendipity Place'.

It was even worse last night, I was stuck in America trying to get home, and I couldn't look up ship timetables as they were all jamming the internet to watch the royal wedding dontpanic

I had an awful dream last night where I'd committed two murders and was really paranoid about being caught. Then I realised I was also a police officer who was being investigated for failure to catch the murderer. And I got in further trouble for wandering away from the disciplinary hearing to make myself a sandwich.

I had some very out-of-date Emmental for tea last night, and when I wasn't lying awake, I was having appalling nightmares all night. The worst one was an ironic one where I was trying to park a big truck with a ladder on the back down our street, and the ladder fell off and smashed all the neighbours' garden plants. Then I woke up and thought I could hear knocking at the door, and that it was the police come to arrest me for the ladder incident bawl

Last night I dreamt I was out shopping for clothes, and I found a beautiful long elegant coat which fitted perfectly. I was taking it to the checkout when I began worrying about whether it was washable.

Then suddenly I was no longer shopping, but poring over a map of where I work, plotting with a colleague to thwart a group of rebel colleagues who were planning to release plague bacteria in the corridors.

I was on the run from the fuzz again last night, through the corridors at work. I hid from them in a meeting that, by a massive coincidence, was studying a reformed violent criminal known as 'Philip C', who I immediately worked out from the handouts was a kid I'd been at primary school with.

I'd had a quantity of wuzz before going to bed, in the spare room because of Junior Evel Knievel out front. So I also had a dream where I was dragging my duvet along a scary overgrown footpath (an actual one that I walk on to get to Tescos when I'm not dreaming).

last nite, In a premonition of the Mercury Awards which was today, apparently, I had a dream in which thingy out of Wolf Alice was having a go at me for not turning up for that boxing match I forgot to go to, because I was feeling a bit qu**r.
