Re: Coronavirus :dontpanic:
I feel slightly better now.
The heat has abated a bit and an light breeze has picked up.
Also, the behind-the-eyes headache has lessened a bit.

Re: Coronavirus :dontpanic:
I'm feeling much better today.
Headache gone, flu-lite symptoms greatly reduced, no dizzyness.
Still quite snotty and with a sore throat and dry cough.
Deffo just seem like lingering symptoms though.

Have you lost taste and scent ability?
Regardless, I'm glad you're feeling a little better. You can't be too careful at your age.
I also found today offered a pleasant breeze. Yesterday was rather sticky I thought.

Re: Coronavirus :dontpanic:
I'm concerned about Monkeypox, and I'm not comforted by the rather callous dismissal of it as only affecting gay men. I mean, they said that about HIV. Anyway.
Now I'm on top of my grooming regime, I thought I might treat myself to a night out with purpose. But for monkeypox. As far as I can gather, it's related to smallpox.
Didn't smallpox leave behind horrible scarring? I don't really care about being under the weather for a week or two, but I draw the line at the prospect of lifelong scarring.
How are others here processing the risk balance weigh up? Nobody is really talking about it seriously - it's all jokes, fear, or careless dismissal. All extremely unhelpful.
What counts as wise in the diseased world of 2022?

Re: Coronavirus :dontpanic:
It's not really something I've thought about. Isn't it fairly mild for most people?

Well I don't know. Does anyone know? This is the key piece of the puzzle that nobody has touched on. It's the prospect of scarring that bothers me, rather than whether it's mild or severe.
I'll be 40 in November. Post pandemic but pre birthday I thought I could fit in one new person each month at the minimum. But not if I end up looking like some raddled Tudor era whore.

Re: Coronavirus :dontpanic:
Lots of guys these days seem to be using frosted pink lipgloss on their bellends. I mean, why not, I suppose. It makes the unsolicited pictures less gruesome. They weren't doing it the last time I was in the market for one. I wonder why that development came about.
I have noticed everyone looks more and more airbrushed now, even in the flesh. My son and his friends practically glow with shiny health in a way I don't recall teenagers ever doing before. It must be one of those generational changes that divide sharply from those before.

I'm feeling more-or-less back to normal BTW.
In fact, I'm feeling better than normal.

Re: Coronavirus :dontpanic:
A headache that won't shift, generally feeling a little run down, etc. Earlier when a slight cough developed I matched it to my feeling that the vinaigrette on my lunchtime salad hadn't been as piquant as expected, I thought I must've finally developed the virus. A test was done. Negative. I'm now reaching despair that I'll ever get Covid-19 over with.

Re: Coronavirus :dontpanic:
As I appear to be getting through it now, I can reveal that I've finally had the virus within me for the last few days. Like with many, many others, it has thankfully only really been like a cold, with the most notable thing being a hurts-to-swallow throat for consecutive days which is finally easing, and what all started as a fever with confusement on the hottest nights leading me to think that's all it was - me being too hot. When the weather cooled down and I was still feeling the same and with sore throat was when I started to think something a bit more was going on.
I've been stranded away from home (wherever that is these days) so as not to infect a whole host of other people in a different region.
Coincidentally, I read just yesterday a report suggesting that lots of people who haven't had the virus yet are currently getting it for the first time.
That said, right at the beginning of the pandemic in February 2020 I had something very similar which I've often wondered was related, which I either caught off my friend who had just travelled back from London and went down with it, or a girl in a charity shop standing next to me who was coughing her guts up.
