I'd take great pleasure fixing that scratch.

I identified a further 13 zones in the garden, which while bigger than the house is mostly devoid of things I'd need to pack.
That makes a pleasingly round total of 60 zones.

Not yet. But I've realised I've got to declutter before I can sell the house. I can't show people round while there's piles of boxes everywhere.

To see all those in a bin actually makes me feel quite ill, even if they are rubbish.

Re: What's happening in your life? Part 2
Time has ticked by with unusual haste. In order for him to spend all of August in France, July has been reserved for my son to continue with his educational projects, both those set by school and the supplementary essentials I've set - along with thrice weekly tutorial sessions with moi, as well as his completing some household tasks to my satisfaction.
Each of these tasks has a financial incentive attached - and a penalty. If, for the sake of example, I determine his labour is worth £30 and it hasn't been done sufficiently well, he not only doesn't get that £30 but will lose access to half again of that particular amount already in his own current account - for the entirety of August. £15 in this case, and so on.
It's up to him whether he wants to supplement his funds by pioneering high quality standards in all things, or be lazy now and later forego however much the total penalty happens to be. It's a whole new world for him, of consequences within your control having financial costs.
Great progress has been made on the hall carpet this morning - it's now almost white pending another full going over, and enough hair has been brushed and tweezed out of it to make wigs for a Barbie doll factory.

Having said that I've already paid for his choice of five pairs of swimming shorts and two rather attractive beach towels to be delivered from Kiwi Saint Tropez, and none of those were cheap so he can't claim to be hard done by. I've said we can go shopping nearer the time for the rest of his holiday wardrobe essentials and a new fragrance.

First visit to a Pub in 4 months and only just discovered how well Jack Daniel's goes down as a chaser.

It is so much more civilised, cashless payments(means you spend more), always get a seat, and, for me anyway....a key to the lavs....no more trying to do a No.1 in front of a strangerWhatDoesThisButtonDo? wrote:I went to a public house today.

I can see that it's going to be one of those days.
Problem with car - trying to change address from garage it's kept at to my address - it needs to be 1/4 mile away from the registered to get the AA out free. Or it's £120.
AA cover via bank account, which requires email confirmation to continue with change of car address. Confirmation email keeps crashing.
Replacement landline dead.
Someone else has comprehensively proved their incredible unreliability again, and it's just 8am. It's always sad when a friendship ends, but I've reached my limit now.

This is how it's gone...
Could you get him to ring me on my number?
Could you get him text me on my number with his name?
Could you give me his number?
Radio silence. And then randomly 'We are in now'.
Great. Could you give him my number?
Could you get him to call me?
Could you text me his number?
Radio silence. And then randomly 'He can do next week'.
Great, could you please give him my number?
And the cycle begins again
Etc
Maybe she's worried I'll sleep with him. I do hate a middle wo/man.
Etc

I was doing some tidying in the front garden earlier and saw a piece of litter floating around. I went over to pick it up and put it in the bin, only to discover it was actually a receipt, from 2016, for a KFC in Woking in Surrey - about 140 miles away from where I am in the West Midlands!
