I don't remember the original sounding like this, did Bowie Rip off The Psychedelic Furs?

I think things were converging and diverging at once.
All the New-Romantics, Blitz Kids and post-punk synthies were all Bowie fanatics at a time when the man himself was moving away from the sound that'd inspired them all.
Ashes to Ashes, that was Bovvie's NR song, then he went off to make largely unconvincing pop-soul.
