It is over.
That was very good. Much better than that Roxy Music album we did.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

Which one? The first one or the good one?

What a fab album.
Top bananas all round from me.
Better than many of the more acclaimed Roxy albums of the '70s.
Not more eclectic and arrogantly ambitious than his more cover-version oriented solo albums.
It settles itself into a more comfortable niche of genuinely entertaining new material.
I really really freakin' love it.

Re: Bryan Ferry - In Your Mind (1977)
I gave it 4.
I didn't know he did solo albums in the 70s, I thought it was later after Roxy had blanned out,
That was alright, not as good as Roxy at their peak, but good, yeah.
While I'm here I was surprised how good their post Eno albums where, at least the first couple,

I feel that RM's debut album got a bit of an unfairly rough ride TBH.
Siren has a really strident and immaculately professional power to it (+ good songs), but Roxy Music is really good.
It deserves a retrospective.

No, he did almost as many solo albums as Roxy albums.
Most of them comprised of very interesting and ambitious cover versions.
IMO they're exceptional in many many ways.
Ferret is one of the great cover version artists of all time - always bringing something new to the table.
Grace Jones, Ferret, The Residents.
Yes, The Residents.

Both. I don't remember doing more than one but, from my comments in those threads, it's obvious I didn't like either of them.Guest wrote:The Call of the Wendigo wrote:It is over.
