Ooh I remember that. We were delivered a set of little stickers to put on the radio to show the new frequencies (radios in those days had stuff like RADIO 4 pre-printed on the tuner scale).

Maybe for your new fangled ones!

Actually using both meters and MC/S MHz was a right pain wasn't it?

I was going to mention HOME but feared it would make me sound even more ancient than I already do. Though the Home Service was already a thing of the past when I was born.

Is that a cardboard shim under that radio in the picture btw?

It's just the in storage ones, that top one really needs a service/re-cap.

type Apparently the Wide Range has a frequency response of 12 kc/s kHz, which is about 3 times more Hi-Fi than modern broadcasts Excited

I have heard in the days before switching PSU and plasma TVs, and when they put more electricity up the wires AM wasn't the terrible thing was all know and love these days.

Don't get me started on the Troughline, a weirdly better than anything I've ever heard (in mono, the stereo-decoders are ghastly) but I need to change one of the switched on the front. Sometime.

Also, I know the BBC like to talk about themselves, but it's not that hard to move the pointer around the dial until the Hairy Cornflake comes back/goes away is it?
