It rained hard all night, and when I was coming back from the Co-op, but it's a bright sunny day now. With a freezing cold north wind. It's the first day this autumn that I've thought 'I wish I'd put a thicker coat on.'

I was going to walk to the nearest Morrisons (which opens at 8 thanks to Scottish Sunday trading rules) but it was coming down in stair rods, and a gale was blowing and the sky was full of dark clouds, so I took the car.

In the town centre the river was really full, racing along, and there were signs everywhere saying FLOODING IMMINENT dontpanic
