Did I mention that tree fell down near me?

I've not seen it. I think the only footage I've seen is the Thrillenium Dome falling apart and the top of that church falling off.cosmictanya wrote:I'm a bit sick of seeing the floppy haired guy and his dad Daniel, from Brentwood in Essex on the news. Its the same feature on repeat - a panorama of their grounds and garden swimming pool, before homing in on a tree through the roof, a horrified presenter doing a Kate Adie reporting from hell impression, and then an explanation from the owner of how he'd called his stockbroker about the damage.

Northern Ireland looks to have been deliberately targeted as a victim, going by how the storm warning tracks perfectly with their border and coastline.

The whole map looks like a cross section of an elderly person's clinically identified 'tender regions'.

NJ - I did see that, very upsetting.
W - Well that's the stuff we're made of down here - we don't make a song and clog dance about everything, we just sit down and call our stockbrokers.
I didn't know a church had fallen down. Perhaps the various channels are rationing their reports of the destruction so we don't become overwhelmed. It'll probably be Tuesday, at least, before news about the fallen tree of St John's Wood makes it onto television.

This is the tree that was murdered by the storm.
When it was only small.

I contended with snow, rain and wind on my journey yesterday. The full tale is to be told in the driving thread.

Man Utd are beating Leeds 2-0 at Elland Road at half-time.
However, the weather is so bad there's a possibility the game could be called off.

I know. They've just taken a free kick and it's landed in my back garden.

I think it's windier here today than it has been for the last couple of days. A large builder's bag from this side had blown over next door and I had to reach over the wall to get it back, and a huge stick had landed on the drive which I had to throw onto the front lawn out of the way.

It's been raining more than during the storms, and my windows haven't leaked! I think I can put my records back on the shelf without getting damaged!
