Over at Specialised Gentleman's Interest Forum the absolute Numero Uno de facto Boss-Lady Jenny has died (possibly of Covid).

It's the second death of a legendary and indispensable forumer within the last 9 months-or-so.

I've noted that the three vocations with the highest mortality rates seem to be wrestlers, rappers and those involved in 'adult entertainment'.

It would appear that being a major player on internet forums devoted to the latter have a relatively comparable rate of demise.

It's a veritable wake over there.

I was once a member of an atheist forum which had a similarly high death rate - possibly because a lot of them were American gun fanatics prone to getting drunk and topping themselves.

After the demise of DeadOrVegetable on reddit another called MakeMyCoffin has popped up in its place.

I was having a look at it last night.

There were a couple of things I genuinely wish I could un-see.

One could be the worst thing I've ever seen on the internet.

It's to do with someone who was employed by reddit as an administrator without them seemingly to've vetted them first.

She's called Aimee Challenor.

It's a pretty murky, nasty, sinister state of affairs.

I saw this when it spilled over onto r/hoarding, which is where I lurk when I'm not busy pretending to be a retail worker on r/tesco and r/rantsfromretail.

I didn't know Aimee Knight/Challenor was a trans woman and Linehan victim. That just makes me more confused as to which side to come down on.

The problem with someone like GL is that his out-of-control, completely off the map, verging on senile, 'activism'/bigotry obscures anything enlightening or useful he might actually uncover or expose.

From what I can tell in this case is that the dankly sinister creepiness of the story just writes itself.

The fact that GL is an intelligent, adept albeit manipulative personally gender-driven writer doesn't come into it.

Unfortunately however, him and his 'followers' will still use it as evidence of some kind of conspiracy.

FFS, this is an extreme example of internet weirdness and its twistedness in regards the power dynamic that occurs between people who don't ever actually meet in person.

Anyway, I'm morbidly gripped.

PS - I've met GL a number of time (him being a cornerstone of the Irish media mafia) and, although he never offended me directly, he is widely considered now as pariah and all-round tool by that minuscule fishbowl of an oeuvre.

Oh, how the mighty - and mightily fat - fall.

I notice that one of the new (well, newly returned) lady members of Other Brand Forum lives in Sheffield.

I wonder if she and Wendi should stage a joint expedition to that scary pub Wendi was told never to go in?
