Back in Black or Sink the Pink?
Re: AC/DC - Back In Black (1980)
How many 'units' did this album 'ship'?
It's a fair view isn't it.
To say the least.

Only Thriller tops it!

Re: AC/DC - Back In Black (1980)
It is over.
It was very boring with all the songs in the same vein and on the same level.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

I start at the beginning and endure them all the way through to the end, just like everyone else.Nightjar wrote:The Call of the Wendigo wrote:Last track - Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution.
Seriously, Wendi.
Do you just skip a bit ahead if you get bored?

I think it's the peak of the AACCCDACC formula, Sure there's some filler, but the good stiff stuff is as good as they got, with either singer.
Down hill all the way from there of course, I think I still prefer Jailbreak as their best song.

Re: AC/DC - Back In Black (1980)
Well, I've never been that mad about this album.
I'm a loyal Bon Scott fan and, for me, BrianJohnston Jones Wilson Clough Ferret doesn't have the same ineffable quality of the uniquely evil uncle steering a violently enthusiastic mob of snotty-nosed, gleeful nephews down the very worst path.
With Bon there was always a touch of the Carry Ons, but with Brian there's just thunder and bluster and megaton-sandpaper pyrotechnics.
Also, the production is so markedly '80s-different - so much more slick and big budget.
Still.
It's good.
And, just when you think you're getting bored, something awesome and/or fun and strangely unexpected happens.
