Re: Strange news from around the world
I've just done an image search for, "Sun Bear." Every single photo that came up is adorable.

Scientists reconstruct Pink Floyd song by listening to people’s brainwaves.
The team analysed brain recordings from 29 patients as they were played an approximately three-minute segment of the Pink Floyd song. The volunteers’ brain activity was detected by placing electrodes directly on the surface of their brains as they underwent surgery for epilepsy.
Artificial intelligence was then used to decode the recordings and then encode a reproduction of the sounds and words. Though very muffled, the phrase “All in all, it’s just another brick in the wall” comes through recognisably in the reconstructed song – with its rhythms and melody intact.
“It sounds a bit like they’re speaking underwater, but it’s our first shot at this,” said Knight.

1977 crisp packet found on Cornish beach.
A crisp packet more than 40 years old has been found by a dog walker on a Cornish beach.
The packet features the picture and printed signature of former England footballer Kevin Keegan and the chance to buy one of his endorsed "Superstar" tracksuits for £4.98.
Lisa Beckley found the packet of chicken Smiths crisps while walking her two dogs at Daymer Bay near Wadebridge.
She said the age of it was "ridiculous".

Re: Strange news from around the world
A statement *purporting to be* from Mr Keegan
Rather conspiratorial.
also says: "Whatever sport you enjoy, you need a good tracksuit and I know that lots of boys and girls like to wear them all the time."
Kevin Keegan was an early promoter of chav culture.
It adds: "Made in a good quality nylon fabric, these tracksuits are tough, long lasting and very easy to wash and dry
And set on fire easily.
so Mum will like your new tracksuit as much as you do!"

Was vegetable oil a new and unknown thing in 1977, so people had to be reminded that they could actually eat it?

Re: Strange news from around the world
Who's to say this crisp packet hadn't simply been stored in someone's house for 45 years and blew away onto the beach just a few days ago?
Just think, now we're all forced to use paper bags, paper straws etc. little will ever be found of today's things. I preferred the days when plastic Garfield telephones washed up on the beach to remind us of better times in the past.
