Re: The waiting in thread
Well.
Well...
Weeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllll...
I got a text from Hermesthe Herald of the Olympian Gods and Silk Scarfs at about 8:59pm saying it'd been devilered when it hadn't.
But then I looked out my front door and along came the devilry man.
But when I took the package it was a bit damp and smelt of cheap Scotch.
And when I opened it - easily, because the cardboard was all damp and smelling of cheap Scotch () - the bottle was all wet and smelling of cheap Scotch.
And the label was all stained and smelling of cheap Scotch.
However, since I noticed very quickly, I was able to call the devilmaycareman back to show him.
However, he looked at the bottle and, correctly, pointed out hat there was no crack in the glass or break in the seal.
However, as he was examining the bottle, he suddenly winced as he was sliced across the thumb with a tiny sliver of glass.
He then cut himself on another almost invisible fragment of glass.

That's why you should only ever buy alcohol that comes in plastic bottles.

Re: The waiting in thread
It was only when he'd gone, looking all like...
...that I remembered that when I bought said bockle of nice single pot Irish Whisky the online retailer had gifted me a tiny, one-shot, bockle/ampule of some artsy boutique Scotch along with my purchase.
This was obviously scrappily, hapharzardly and all-round-scrap-hap-cr*ppily jammed in with the proper bottle of booze and had broken in transit.

I also think that I've swallowed a bit of glass.

Which means that, when I go to bed, I'll wake up about 15 minutes later and be all like...

Re: The waiting in thread
I've been waiting in all day for a delivery. That buzzer hasn't rung once, and no knock on that door has been received. Just there, I checked with my Amazon account, to find that the delivery was 'left with a neighbour'. Only four neighbours are in, none of whom have it. Had a complicated time with Amazon UK, speaking to two people with heavy Thai accents who claimed to be called Anne and Kevin. I've been refunded. I wanted my parcel

At about 1am this morning I ordered 4 CDs from Amazon and one of them separately just got pushed through the letterbox!
From click to letterbox in less than 12 hours!
