No, you won't - you'll go and most probably have a wonderful time.
Premier Inn is my favourite cheap hotel chain. More than once I've considered going in search of the laundry room to stock up on their bedding, and squeezing a mattress out of a window to be picked up the next morning. There are worse places to be ill.

Yes, I feel a bit better again today. I'm going to spend today packing, and if I don't feel any worse tomorrow, I'll go ahead as scheduled. After all, I can abort mission at any stage if I start feeling ill.

The weirdest thing about going to stay in another town is watching its local TV news. It always feels like you've slipped into an alternate world. All the news is the sort of news you're used to hearing but it's presented by people who you've never seen before, saying place names that you don't hear in your own local news.

I always have a flick through the local television offerings. I once found a soap opera set circa 500BC, with characters in togas. They'd also taken the opera part literally - operatic outbursts featured prominently at apparently random moments.

There's literally an area in this town called Martin's Heron
Re: Colds and flu
I might be getting a cold.
I'm often wrong about this though as I have an ongoing undetermined allergy that makes me sneeze randomly sometimes.

Re: Colds and flu
I can't tell if I've got a hangover, a cold, allergy symptoms or COVID.
I feel pretty rotten though.
