Re: The album running-commentary and general listening discussion thread.
So far, this is the most memorable song on the album, if only for the chord changes.

Track 8. Ten Feet Tall.
Is it autobiographical?

What can you do once you've given us hand claps? You can only top it with foot stamping.

I think it's going a bit Blue Oyster Cult.

They've gone funky again.

I don't think there's any doubt that, if they'd hung around for another album, they'd've gone full on Disco about it all.

Opening reminiscent of Tug of War.

That was an album of two halves. After the catchy first track, Side One fell into a mid-tempo half-heartedness that it struggled to shake off. Side Two was much more interesting, in terms of harmonics and instrumentation, even though it too suffered from a mid-tempo sense of the spiritually downbeat.
I think it shows how hard it is to do what Wings did. They were doing all the stuff that Wings did but it lacked the lightness of touch and joyfulness that made Wings' better efforts take flight. It also wasn't helped by David Paton's somewhat nondescript voice being unable to lift the gloomy material.
