I thought you'd moved?
Have your parking miseries followed you to your new home?
Is it like in the fillum Insidious?
"It's not the house that's that's haunted - it's your car!"

I'm planning to move. My target move date is December 2020. This is still the 'empty the house of cr*p so it's easier to sell' phase.
In any case, I've had 5 cars since I've been living here.

Re: Parking spaceless car management
The roadworks, which were supposed to finish today, have been extended till Wednesday
And a solitary yellow No Parking cone has appeared right next to my car
I don't know whether some bored kid has dumped it there, or whether it has a sinister significance.
I am absolutely FED UP with this parking thing.

I got up at 3.20 this morning and went for a spin along the dual carriageway to relieve the tension. I never go that way normally because it's choked up with traffic after 7am.
On my way back I saw the full moon setting over the town, huge and red on the horizon.

Nothing has happened to my car yet.
I'm working at home, furtively looking out of the front window every 5 minutes.

You should have done. A harsh word from FanBoss Three (with a Don Draper avatar) would have made me giggle.

The roadworks have finally finished. Just now a bloke was collecting up all the signs in the dark. He missed the cone outside my house so I ran out and put it in the back of his truck for him. He thanked me and assured me that I was an 'angel'.
Re: Parking spaceless car management
By gum it was cold when I was exercising the car this morning.

Re: Parking spaceless car management
I didn't take the car out last week as it was so close to Christmas, so today it was imperative to go for a spin. It was very foggy down by the reservoir, I began to worry about what might come shambling out of the Essex marshes into my path
Re: Parking spaceless car management
Have you thought about a flat with underground parking? Or a dedicated garage in a service alley round the back? It might suit you. I know a lot of Brits look down on flats as temporary things you have to live in until you can afford a house, but I love flat living.

Re: Parking spaceless car management
I have thought of that, but when I lived in flats, I constantly had people either nicking my allocated space or parking really close to my car. And the management company didn't want to know.

Garage or one of those defined ones with a bollard could be your red lines. I used to park in the street and was forever finding a light broken or something scratched.
My family think this is me...
I don't, but I'll admit I might have reacted in that way when my last car was written off - I was innocently waiting at a junction when it was destroyed by a boy racer.
I think living in a flat allows you to live in a better area for a smaller budget, or at least equal to what you'd pay for a house in a less salubrious district.

Your management company sound less involved than mine. To celebrate the season they sent each flat a card and a 'Royal Christmas Quiz'...
Who served chocolate made with milk from her own herd of cows at parties? Beatrix of The Netherlands, Fabiola of Belgium or Grace of Monaco?
Who attends a masked ball after giving her speech on New Years Eve? Margrethe of Denmark, Maxima of The Netherlands or Sonja of Norway?
Who begins Christmas dinner with a rice pudding? Mary of Denmark, Charlene of Monaco or Maria Teresa of Luxembourg?
Which children receive their gifts on Three Kings Day? Estelle & Oscar of Sweden, Leonor & Sofia of Spain or Ingrid Alexandra & Sverre Magnus of Norway?
The prize is a three night stay for two at the Mandarin Oriental in NYC, plus flights - so I have actually googled the answers to these questions to enter the raffle.
They still refused my request to stop any more in house propaganda magazines from Wetherspoons being delivered. Apparently on the grounds of political censorship.

Re: Parking spaceless car management
Goodness. I suspect you are paying rather more service charge than my landlord was, in order to support such attentive property management.
