Holiday 2019
I'm currently in North Yorkshire visiting family for a few days.
I saw Sheffield glittering in the distance a couple of hours ago.

Re: Holiday 2019
This year I'm bringing my spring holiday forward from the April slot it's occupied in recent years, to the first week of March slot it took in the olden days. Just in case.

Re: Holiday 2019
I haven't had an holiday since February 2014.
And that was to Scotland and my girlfriend dumped me and I cried so much she pretended to get back with me until we went home*.
*I did not cry in order to stay in the relationship, I was just very upset.

Re: Holiday 2019
I don't want to go anywhere anymore.
Really, I've been places and they're just full of smelly people and smelly food.
Like Jersey.

Re: Holiday 2019
I remember that when I got home and walked out of Queen's Park station my 5th Gen iPod flicked out of my pocket and into the road and a car's tyre clipped it and it flipped back onto the pavement and that it was still OK and I thought that that was an example I should follow to be tough and not let horrid people or things smash me to bits.

Re: Holiday 2019
I myself have got a bit fatigued with my second-hand-bookshop-based holiday paradigm. I need to find another reason to go to places.

Not a holiday as such, but I'm currently in an hotel in North Yorkshire.

Re: Holiday 2019
Apparently it had been the Tour de Yorkshire cycle race thingy today, not too far from where I'm staying, but I haven't seen anything. Admittedly I only arrived at 8pm.

I've been to Darlington for the first time ever today. It was nicer than I thought it would be.

Re: Holiday 2019
I think I know of no one who has ever come from Darlington; not personally, famously or even in online land.

It does however have some sort of train connection and something to do with the Quakers.

Re: Holiday 2019
Duncan Bannatyne owns a house in Darlington.
Zoe Birkett was born there.
Vic Reeves began his career there!
And a whole host of other "notable" people who I've either never heard of or don't think I know of them.

No I won't be going quite that far, and will be back in the Midlands by this time tomorrow.
